Do You Really Believe You Can Be Debt Free?
There’s a passage of Scripture that can transform your life… IF you believe it!
“Owe no man anything but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. (Rom 13:8)
Hmm… owe… no… man… ANYTHING… but… to… love… him.
Do you believe it’s possible to live like this? Where the only debt you have is love to one another?
Or are you living life the way the world suggests?
Does any of this sound vaguely familiar? You owe not just one man, but a lot of men. You have a mortgage. You have a car note. You have credit card bills. I’m not judging. I’m just asking. And I’m asking the same questions of myself.
To one extent or another, the majority of us have some form of debt. We owe somebody something. And let me be clear. I’m not talking about the credit card bill that you use to accumulate the points and you pay in full every month. That’s not debt. That’s business. You’re maximizing an opportunity.
But when you have a situation where tons of people have their hands out on your payday, then you are living an indebted life.
And debt brings about stress and strips you of your power. Your money concerns will keep you working a job you don’t like and ignoring your true calling in life. It will cause marital problems. Debt drives some people to make very poor life decisions. It robs you of the joy that Jesus died to give you.
BUT it doesn’t have to be this way. If you are a Christian, then at some point in your life you chose to believe John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Right? You accepted this as truth. Well, the same God who said that, is the same God who said owe no man anything, but to love one another. Establish within yourself that God cannot lie and believe Him.
We are called to be blessings. And when we live in the blessings of God, then we can create miracles for others.
When you settle in yourself that debt-free living is for you, then the ministering angels will cause favor to come upon you.
Change your mindset! All things are possible to them that believe.
Here are steps to living debt-free
1. Establish within yourself that God cannot lie
2. Believe Romans 13:8 the same way you believe John 3:16
3. Believe favor is upon you
4. Stop spending unnecessarily
5. Be diligent about paying off your debt
6. Sow your seed by tithes and offerings
7. Sow your seed by random giving. You will be planting into the lives of others and God will reward you
8. Watch it happen!!
Whether you believe you can live debt-free or you believe you’ll always have some form of debt… you’re right.
