Cure For The Hater In Each Of Us

As much as we’d love to believe that we easily support everyone, let’s be honest. There are times when something wonderful will happen to a friend or associate or even a stranger that you hear about on the news. And for just a moment, you have a teeny tiny moment of jealousy. I mean, you’re happy for them and everything, but if you’ve been struggling to get your own thing off the ground and then look at those around you and they seem to be in a better place than you, it’s easy for flesh to rise. And you congratulate them through gritted teeth.

But I have a cure for the hater in each of us. Ready for it? It’s called… a compliment. That’s it. Give the person a sincere compliment. You’d be surprised by the amazing boomerang effect that will happen. Everyone has the ability to have all the blessings they need in life, so rest in that. Your turn will come if you’re doing what you’re supposed to be doing. And if you’re not, then don’t hate on someone else because they are. Instead, give them a compliment. Let them know you’re genuinely proud of them. Genuinely happy for them. That you want the best for them. And mean it. You’ll walk away from your conversation with them feeling good.

And never compare yourself to someone else. It will bring torment to your soul. Instead, compare yourself to yourself. Set attainable goals. And celebrate your accomplishments as you reach your goals. I promise, you’ll feel a lot better than you’ll feel if you embrace the hater that’s capable of rising up inside of you.
