What You Have Is... Healing

July 19, 2017

Almost every morning I spend time meditating and writing in my journal. My daily prayer to God is to use me in service for a calling that’s greater than my own. The morning of September 30, 2010, I was writing about something else and a thought about healing jumped out of my spirit and onto the page. I couldn’t stop writing. Then I asked God who do I share this with because I knew the message was for more than just myself. I shared it back then with family and friends and it is my belief that He now wants me to share this with you…

Here’s what I wrote (with a few updates):

It just hit me (by You, Lord) that when someone says they have XX because the doctor said they have XX, that their confession should NEVER be to say “I have XX”. I used to say “I was diagnosed with XX”. But what just hit me was to say I was misdiagnosed with XX. My diagnosis is actually  healing. Because heaven doesn’t have sickness to give. I do not deny what I feel, I’m denying it’s right over me. I’m denying it’s power. God said, I am healed, and I’ve established within myself that God can’t lie. The Lord’s prayer says that His Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. And Heaven doesn’t have sickness to give me.

Healed is who you are. It’s what I answer to. It’s the name you answer to. Just like I receive the benefits of being Monica ( I am able to drive her car, live in her house, enjoy her family), I am able to enjoy the benefits of being healed. I am able to walk in its blessing. Enjoy health in my body and live a long life free from pain.

But if I say, “I am sick”; which is pain and suffering, maybe turmoil, maybe death, then I’m going to live a life with less peace than what God says I can have. Know the Word. God says several times that we are healed, and His word never returns void. It accomplishes that which He pleases. When His Word appears to return void, it’s not because He didn’t honor His Living Word and do what He said, it’s because He had more faith in His word that we did, and we couldn’t receive it.

Know that fear is an access point. It’s the inverse of faith. You believe in something, we all do. You have faith and believe God’s Word, or you have fear and believe what you see and what worries you. If you receive unpleasant news, don’t do what’s natural.

Here’s a common scenario: The doctor says, “You have XX” and you are in disbelief and you repeat what he said. You say, “I have XX? I have XX. Oh my God, I have XX.” And that starts the cycle. Then you immediately tell someone “My doctor said I have XX”. And your friend/spouse says “What?! You have XX? I can’t believe you have XX.” Then you say, “I am sick”. And the cycle continues. You are setting yourself up. God says words have power. The power of life and death is in the tongue. So speak those things that be not as though they were. Rewrite the scenario: if a doctor says, “You have XX”, let your first words be, “that’s a misdiagnosis. What I have is healing. I am healed.” You may not believe it deep within your spirit in that moment. That’s OK. Fear will try to creep in. Maybe fear attacked you instantly. Recognize that and never change your confession or definition of who you are and what you have. And maybe, just maybe, don’t tell anyone! This is between you and God. Where 2 or 3 are gathered, God is there in the midst of them. So maybe call a trusted friend or tell your spouse, someone who won’t worry. If they are going to worry, then they are inviting fear into your situation. Because worry is disbelief in God and belief that what God promised He’s not going to provide. If you have that friend, then maybe you don’t tell them your misdiagnosis. Instead you just ask them to keep you lifted. That God will keep you strong. You only reach out if you know their confession will align with yours. You don’t tell the world. You don’t want 10 – 20 people, or all of your Facebook “friends” all saying “Oh my God, I can’t believe you have XX”. and then their fear for you will negatively impact your life. Multiple times throughout the day, confess God’s Word. When you hear your thoughts start to go down a negative path, STOP! Confess the Word, like Ps 103:1-13.

1Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And all that is within me, bless His holy name.

2Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And forget none of His benefits;

3Who pardons all your iniquities,
         Who heals all your diseases;

4Who redeems your life from the pit,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion;

5Who satisfies your years with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.

6The LORD performs righteous deeds
And judgments for all who are oppressed.

7He made known His ways to Moses,
His acts to the sons of Israel.

8The LORD is compassionate and gracious,
Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness.

9He will not always strive with us,
Nor will He keep His anger forever.

10He has not dealt with us according to our sins,
Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

11For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
So great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear Him.

12As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

13Just as a father has compassion on his children,
So the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him.

If your misdiagnosis is a result of sin, know that God forgives all our iniquities and we are healed. satan tries to tell us that because we did XX, then this is a result we have to accept. And people accept it because they don’t know about Ps. 103: 1- 13. And God’s people perish for lack of knowledge. I pray that should you ever find yourself in a challenging moment, that these words resonate with you. They are a gift from God to you. I asked him to use me in service for a calling greater than my own and this is what He chose to do today. Be blessed and in good health and prosper, even as thy should prospers. By the way, if you’ve already begun a wrong confession, STOP! Repent. And start a new confession. When you know better, you do better.

So that’s it. That’s what God shared with me and I am very excited. Years ago, I was listening to a pastor and he said the doctor said he had some form of cancer. And as soon as he heard that he knew his next words were critical. And he did not breathe life into that cancer. Instead, he went into prayer, didn’t really tell anyone, and immersed himself in teachings on healing. He did that until he knew without a doubt that he was healed. That message has always remained with me. I have no idea what you may be going through right now, but I hope this has given you some encouragement. Always remember that when you say, “I am___”, that you are further defining who you are. So let your confession be who God says you are. You are all beautiful, talented, healthy, blessed, prosperous, and amazing.  Believe that and walk in it!

Be Blessed and Have A Fantastic Day!
