What A.I.R. Are You Consuming? Automatic Income Reducer or Always Income Rising?

July 19, 2017

ust like many of us, I’ve always had a desire to do my own thing.  I had a very successful career in Corporate America for several years, but was always trying something else on the side.  In my 20’s and early 30’s I did a lot of different things. In college, I sold Avon and the only product I really liked was Skin So Soft.   I did home art parties and I must say it was comical to watch me pretend to know art as I talked about the blend of colors and brush strokes. Thank you to my mother for buying almost everything I sold.  LOL  And I can’t forget the EFusion energy drinks. I was going to be a MILLIONAIRE selling energy drinks in this multi-level marketing situation, and unfortunately, I brought some of my family and friends along with me.  (Sorry about that y’all).

But something really positive actually happened to me while I was doing the energy drink thing.  I was talking to one of my buddies and called the television AIR.  I said we need to stop consuming so much television because it is an Automatic Income Reducer. And the more time spent in front of it, the more our earning potential will decrease.

That thought has never left me and now I’m sharing it with you.  I love how Steve Harvey says “the dream is free, it’s the hustle that will cost you.”  If you really want to be successful, then you have to do a few things. And one of the things that’s critical, is TURN OFF THE TELEVISION. Every hour you spend giving the television your undivided attention is an hour that you didn’t spend bringing your dreams to fruition.

I will be transparent and tell you that there are a handful of ratchet reality television shows that I enjoy.  And one thing I’ve noticed is that while I’m sitting in front of the television watching them, they are not sitting in front of the television watching someone else. No. They are using the platform of that ratchet television show to brand themselves. They’ve catapulted their music careers, clothing lines, wine brands, toy lines, the list goes on and on. Whatever they were working on, they use that hour to promote it to those of us watching the television.  They mix in samples of soundtracks and then we buy the album. I say they are an entertain-fomercial.  They entertain us while they are selling us. And then we buy.

So, here’s the thing. If you want to be financially profitable, then you are going to have to switch the A.I.R. you breathe. You must go from Automatic Income Reducer to Always Income Rising.

HERE’S HOW YOU SWITCH YOUR A.I.R.:

1) TAKE TIME DAILY FOR GOD  The more time we spend with God, the less time we are spending in front of the television (or other non productive things)   And He’s the one who placed the desire in our hearts in the first place.

Ps 37:4-5 – Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will do this.

And when we spend time with God, He will give us wisdom. So when we attain certain levels of success, we will know how to act!

Proverbs 17:16 – Why should fools have money in hand to buy wisdom, when they are not able to understand it?

There are so many other wonderful nuggets in His Living Word about why we should take time daily for God and I encourage you to read His Word and see them for yourself.

2) BECOME A MASTER AT BEING A GIVER  God loves a cheerful giver. And not just when we give to Him, but when we give to others.  Some call it sowing seeds, others say paying if forward.  A hand that’s closed to giving, is also a hand that’s closed to receiving.

Deut 15:10 – Give generously to him and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.

And give based on what we’re able to do.  It’s not the dollar amount that God is checking, it’s our hearts.

Deut 16:17 – Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord your God which He has given you.

There are at least 19 other scriptures that speak on giving.  I encourage you to check them out (since you’re watching less TV these days)

3)  WRITE YOUR VISION  Get and keep your vision before your face.  Whether it’s in a journal, on a vision board, a white board, whatever.  You need to be able to see it.  We need to be able to see it. I can tell you from personal experience, there is something very powerful that happens when we write it down.  God knows this and that’s why He tells us to write it.

Habakkuk 2:2-3 – Then the Lord replied: “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the vision is yet for the appointed time; it hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay

4) GET TO WORK!  God tells us that faith without works is dead.

James 2:17-18 – Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself. But someone may well say, “You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.

So there you have it!  Maybe what I share isn’t a textbook way of seeing increase in your life, but I promise you, it is the best way.  You will change your A.I.R. if you follow these 4 steps. It’s okay to treat yourself with some television afteryou’ve put in the HOURS needed that day to get one step closer to your vision for your life.  And I’ll tell you a something, the more time you spend pursuing your dreams, the less television you’ll want to watch. And I believe that all of us have the ability to Make Our Dreams Our Lives!!

Be Blessed and Have a Fantastic Day!
